About Phoenix Cooling Guide

Phoenix Cooling Guide is a consumer education site for Phoenix-area homeowners making decisions about air conditioning: what work should cost, whether to repair or replace, what a symptom means, and how Arizona utility plans, rebates and the refrigerant transition affect the answer. It has 100 guides across ten topics, and each guide answers five real homeowner questions.

How the guides are written

One decision per guide. Each page stays on one homeowner question rather than mixing topics.
Direct answer first. Every question opens with a short answer, then the detail and the Phoenix context.
Every figure sourced. Prices, rates, rebates and rules are traced to published sources such as the Arizona Registrar of Contractors, SRP, APS, the U.S. EPA, ENERGY STAR, the U.S. Energy Information Administration and the IRS. Each guide lists its sources at the end.
Gaps stated, not filled. Where no reliable published figure exists, the guide says so instead of estimating.

Who is behind it

The guide is published and edited by Michael Fitzgerald. Technical accuracy is reviewed by Tom Mattingly, a licensed Arizona contractor. The reviewer checks technical statements only; prices, consumer-protection guidance and advice on evaluating contractors are the editor's.

Disclosure

Phoenix Cooling Guide is independently published by Michael Fitzgerald and is not paid for by any contractor. Its technical reviewer, Tom Mattingly, owns AZ Trusted Air LLC, the guide's recommended contractor. The site sells no advertising and does not rank contractors. Read the full disclosure.
